Building Back Trust: Ismails Constituency Organizing 

Our Building Back Trust course series will dive into organizing strategies for a specific constituency. We are prioritizing those constituencies that have been historically left out of the democratic process and doing the work to build back trust and empower those communities to become leaders. Building a Livable Future: How to Win the Youth Vote

The 2020 cycle has made it clear: candidates can win youth support by fighting for the policies we care about, like climate action and student debt cancellation. But supporting the right policies isn’t enough; campaigns also need to invest in the youth vote. From crafting an effective relational organizing program to mastering TikTok, this course will help you learn the best practices for reaching out to and engaging young people — taught by young people! Illustrating the beauty of intergenerational campaigning, classes will cover field strategy, campus organizing, social media tactics, digital organizing, and running internship/fellowship programs.

This pandemic has sharply limited traditional campaign tactics and created whole new challenges for organizers. Progressive campaigns were struggling to adjust to the new normal, leading us to pioneer robust digital tactics and strategies in an attempt to continue winning the power for our movement. Despite the steady transition back to traditional means of campaigning, one thing is clear: running effective digital programs are critical to reach the scale that we need to win. This course will take a deep dive into how to scale up all the digital aspects of a campaign including ad, messaging, field tactics, and fundraising.

Mastering Call Time 

Call Time is the single most important arm of campaign fundraising. In this course you will learn the best practices and techniques of call time and take a deep dive into various software programs used to set up an effective system. Topics include the best ways to conduct call time remotely, coaching the candidate, writing the pitch, marketing materials for call time, the importance of follow up, using campaign software, donor research, list building, and real-life call time observation with a candidate who is currently running for office. By the end of this course, you will know how to set up and remotely operate a fully functioning Call Time system for a campaign.
